Green Line Report 1: Why do we hate Dillon Brooks

Dillon Brooks is the NBA's biggest villain, he is playing a big role for the NBA that has been vacant for several years. In this modern NBA era, the best so far for fan entertainment, the off the court relationships have become as important as the play on the court. The villains of the NBA for the last 5 - 7 seasons have just not matched up to the scumbags of the 2000's and it certainly has lost the attitude on the court. When Grayson Allen, Draymond Green, and Pat Bev are the perennial front runners for Villain of the Year and they're not exactly A list NBA personalities anymore. This brings us to Dillon Brooks who is in an interesting point in his career with Memphis. Now a veteran who has been with the team since 2017, has always had a bit of attitude since his career at Oregon(Flare for the extreme dating back to his epic flop against Utah). Brooks has been able stir-up and even tear down in some ways some of the most beloved players and team in the modern NBA. The emerging rivalry between the Warriors and the Grizzlies has brought back some of that wild card aspect that has been fading away. The entire Grizzlies situation only helps feed this, and has made their matchups must see TV because of what's gonna blow up. I understand people are gonna not like Dillon Brooks, especially Warriors fans, but now it seems that NBA fans are scared to have a real villain calling him "Corny" and "Soft" because he is mixing it up with NBA stars. The early 2000's Piston teams are now immensely popular as well as individuals like Rodman have had this delayed fandom from their eccentric career. Dillon Brooks is on that path, making these widely loved and respected Warriors players so shook that they have to get in his ear every game and insist on counting how many rings they have in front of him. I am just here to say I am still buying stock in Dillon Brooks and am proud to be a fan of his scum and antics. Its good that there are 2 teams that absolutely hate each other and its about damn time someone gave Dillon Brooks his flowers for his contributions to the NBA as a whole.
