Is the WCC going to let me down again?
America’s greatest basketball conference, the WCC, is having an ‘07 college football type season. A rare season where the classically poor have surged and shined bringing hope to those previously hopeless, and like the ‘07 football season I believe will end with two traditional giants squaring off. The hope of a four bid WCC has yet again died at the hands of Santa Clara, and the early season blues the Zags faced have seemingly evaporated and could be put to rest with a visit to Rupp Arena this weekend. While the Gaels continue to win the west, the classic WCC championship game between St. Mary’s and Gonzaga seem all but eminent with the sputtering Dons and the surging Toros taking the middle of the WCC down with them. The sun will set on the season leaving the Broncos in the dark, and the Dons feeling the loss of a wasted offense machine. These are not my hopes but the WCC will always persist to vanquish any hope of four bids. Keeping the tradition alive another year and one last chance to out bid the PAC-12, burying them in the dirt. With all this being said, I cannot wait to get my hopes up for Pepperdine to pull one out in the WCC tournament.
